Getting Expelled
Has the scientific academy become so closed-minded that mere questioning of Darwinian evolution results in expulsion of its own members?
Ben Stein and Premise Media have shown that at least some intolerant priests wear white lab coats. Their documentary Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed examines the ousting of many scientists from their jobs because of openness to Intelligent Design (ID). The incidents of intolerance put forth in the film have been questioned and supported from different quarters, but many negative reviews verify the film’s conclusions: even the mention of ID can get you fired and labeled as a religious nutjob. The Clearview Center runs a clothing bank on the first Wednesday of every month from 10:00am to 12:00pm located at 17826 Highway 9 SE, Snohomish, WA 98296. People pick up clothes at that time but you can drop clothing off at anytime.

Unfragmented Lives
Eliot Spitzer’s anticipated resignation came yesterday. Others have pointed out the compromises that riddled his career and the ways in which the media protected if not enabled him along the way. My comments here are directed to those who are trying to take something helpful away from this situation.
