Adult Choir Announcement

Adult Choir Announcement

Dear fellow saints at Trinity Church,

I am very pleased to announce the continuation of the Trinity Church Adult Choir this fall under my direction as Interim Music Director. The purpose of the choir will be to lead the congregation in praise and musical excellence by singing in worship, psalm sings, and other special services (such as Evensong, Lessons and Carols, etc.). The choir is one way that we at Trinity Church use to let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another with all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (Col. 3:16). With this in mind, please consider whether you are willing and able to make the commitment to serve in the choir this year. Please feel free to consult me as you deliberate upon this.

To be eligible to sing in the choir, you must be a regular attending adult (or High School student) member of Trinity Church. Admittance is dependent upon the advice of the Interim Music Director (me, that is) following a brief musical hearing/interview. Even if you have participated in the Adult Choir in the past, you will still need to meet with me prior to the first rehearsal. The hearing/interviews are simply a way for me to become better acquainted with the choir members, check vocal ranges, etc. as I seek to be a faithful steward of the musical talents of the congregation. If you would like to participate in the choir, please let me know before the first choir rehearsal so that we can arrange a time and place to meet briefly. The first day that the Adult Choir will meet will be on Wednesday, September 10 from 7:30-8:30 pm. Rehearsals will continue from 7:30-8:30 every Wednesday following that with a few exceptions. The dates for the first Evensong and Lessons and Carols are posted on the Trinity Church website for your reference. If you have questions, please be encouraged to contact me at any time.

Let the peoples praise you, O God; Let all the peoples praise you!

Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,

For you judge the peoples in righteousness

And guide the nations upon earth.

Let the peoples praise you, O God; Let all the peoples praise you!

Psalm 67:3-5
