Inability to Think Outside the Box

Inability to Think Outside the Box

“It is the great triumph of compulsory government monopoly mass schooling that among even the best of my fellow teachers, and among even the best of my students’ parents, only a small number can imagine a different way to do things.” John Taylor Gatto, One time NY State Teacher of the Year

One of the first steps to building a Christian worldview is the willingness and ability to see what everyone takes for granted. Once a society has become so provincial that it cannot see itself as an era, and the best among those running the educational establishment are passing on this legacy, we are in dire straits. Not only does our compulsory government education system teach the inherent irrelevance of the Christian faith (which it understandably does being being a dogmatic pluralistic institution), it ensures that no one will ever think any different: ignorance kills imagination.
